Golf: Israelson highlights Brainerd Lakes golfers at Minnesota Open

Amaetur Andrew Israelson shot 1-under at the Minnesota Open July 19-21 to finish tied for 18th for the tournament. The Staples native and North Dakota State golfer shot an opening round of 69 to be tied for eighth after day one at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove. He finished with a 73 in rounds two and three to finish 1-under.

Tim Johnson of Cragun’s Legacy Courses also made the cut and finished in 60th place with a score of 8-over. He made the cut line thanks for his 2-under round of 70 on the second day of competition.

Adam Haugen of The Preserve, Charlie Hollinbeck of Breezy Point, Jesse Nelson and Jack Wawro of the Pines and Bennet Smed and Jacob Wherley of The Classic at Madden’s all missed the cut at the Minnesota Open.
