Brainerd’s Erik Stoxen shot a first round 75 in the National High School Golf Invitational Monday, Aug. 3, at Pinehurst No. 6 in North Carolina.
Stoxen’s 3-over first round score put him tied for 34th and six strokes off the leaders.
Pequot Lakes’ Tyler Seeling shot a first round 78 on Pinehurst No. 6 to be 6-over.
In the girls leaderboard, Brainerd’s Izzy Olson shot a first round 92 on Pinehurst No. 8 to be 22 shots off the leader.
