SARTELL-Ethan Ballou of Little Falls and Beck Erholtz of Staples-Motley hung on to win the rain-shortened Section 6-2A individual title Tuesday, June 4, at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club.

Because of rain, the final day was shortened to 14 holes. Ballou and Erholtz, who were in a three-way tie for the lead, both shot 60s for 137s.

Crosby-Ironton's Casey Finnerty was third with a 138.

Aitkin's Sam Sadlowsky just missed state by one place. He finished with a 142.

St. Cloud Cathedral won the team title over second-place Crosby-Ironton by eight strokes. Staples-Motley placed fifth.

Cathedral and the top five individuals not on that team advance to state.

Neva, Seeling advance

BEMIDJI-Pequot Lakes' Henry Neva fired a 1-ofer 73 and Tyler Seeling shot even par 72 in the second round of the Section 8-2A Tournament Tuesday, June 4, at Bemidji Town and Country Club to land a spot in the Class 2A State Tournament.

Neva finished third individually with a two-day 153 and Seeling was fourth with a 156.

The top team, which was Detroit Lakes, and the top five individuals not on DL advance to state.

Neva was just four strokes off the individual title. That was captured by Roseau's Gus Vatnsdal who shot a 3-under 69 Tuesday to post a 149 and win by two strokes.

As a team the Patriots finished third Brodie Olson placed 23 with a 174. Ben Golden finished with 181 for 34th place followed by Luke Tangen in 35th place and Quady Bernu in 36th place.

Wadena-Deer Creek's Kade Woods posted a two-day 180 to finish 31st.
