MELROSE — Maddy Sedlachek’s second-place finish on vault helped her to a second-place finish in the all-around for the Brainerd Warriors who fell to Melrose 137.85-133.45 Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Brainerd’s lineup was all about new faces, gaining experience and high energy, said Warrior head coach Tessa Poorker.

“We are resting some girls and had 10-plus varsity spots to fill,” Poorker added. “It was fun to watch a whole new varsity lineup get their chance and soak in that experience. This season is about seizing the opportunity. I'm proud of every Warrior that stepped up tonight.”

Kenna Smith scored a second on floor with her 9.1. Kami Peterson placed second on beam with a 7.8 and that helped her to fourth in the all-around.
