High School Athletics: Flyers hire girls soccer, football head coaches

Little Falls High School on Friday announced the hiring of Scott Orians as head girls soccer coach and Joe Bartos as head football coach.

Orians played three years of high school soccer in Omaha, Neb., and followed with two years at North Park University in Chicago. He moved to Little Falls in 2011 and has been involved as a boys assistant soccer coach for the past four seasons.

He has been involved with the summer youth soccer program in Little Falls as well. Orians is the network administrator at Little Falls Public Schools. He and his wife, Shelby have two children, Grace (5) and Hannah (2).

Bartos comes to Little Falls from Roseville Public Schools where he is a fifth grade teacher at Little Canada Elementary School. He was a finalist for the 2010 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award. Bartos played college football at the University of Minnesota-Morris where he was a 2-year starter and 4-time academic all-conference performer.

He has been an assistant football coach at Class 6A Roseville for 11 seasons and the past five as a varsity assistant coach. Bartos will teach elementary education in Little Falls. He and his wife, Heidi, have three children, daughter Samantha and sons Payton and Bjorn.
