ALEXANDRIA-Hunter Wicklund went 2-3 with two stolen bases and Broc Peterson was 3-4 with a double, but the Brainerd Warriors struggled to score runs in a 6-3 Central Lakes Conference loss to Alexandria Thursday.
The Cardinals erupted for three runs in the first inning, while Brainerd scattered its three runs.
McCale Peterson scored Brainerd's first run in the third as he opened with a single and then stole second. A Wicklund single moved Peterson to third and he later scored on a Max Boran sacrifice fly.
Colin Kleffman singled in the fifth, stole second and third and scored on an Alex Haapajoki sacrifice fly.
In the sixth, McCale Peterson reached on a fielder's choice. He stole second base and scored on Broc Petersons' double.

The Warriors conclude the regular season with a 9-11 overall record. The Section 8-4A tournament will begin May 30.
