McCale Peterson and Josh Hukriede each contributed two hits as the Brainerd Warriors were defeated 10-5 by the Sauk Rapids Storm in a Central Lakes Conference game Friday at Adamson Field.
Peterson finished 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, a walk and stole two bases. Hukriede was 2-3 with a triple, scored a run and drove in one.
Alex Haapajoki, Sam Miller and Tristan Richardt each had one hit for Brainerd.
Bryce McConville took the loss. In 2.2 innings, he allowed four hits, seven walks and nine earned runs. David Benson pitched one-third inning, allowing an earned run, two hits and two walks. Hunter Wicklund finished the last four innings, allowing no runs and one hit with one walk and four strikeouts.
"Hunter Wicklund pitched well and Josh Hukriede had a strong game catching and hitting," Warriors coach Lowell Scearcy said.
