DETROIT LAKES-The Brainerd Warriors girls bowling team enjoyed a 2-1 Sunday, Jan. 27 at Voyageur Lanes.

Brainerd opened with a 3-2 loss to Detroit Lakes but rebounded with a 3-2 victory over the Northwest Conference-leading Fergus Falls Maroon and then capped the day with a 3-2 win over Perham 3-2.

Brainerd owns a 6-3 conference record for third in the standings behind Detroit Lakes and Fergus who are tied for first with 7-2 records.

Brainerd's high bowler was Shakira Waerta with 90.5 percent fills. Warta had 22 strikes, 15 spares and only three opens after 15 games of bowling.

The next conference match will be Sunday, Feb. 3 at Northern Aire Lanes in Fergus Falls.
