STAPLES — Sivert Klefsaas ran for two touchdowns and 60 yards as Class 2A’s ninth-ranked West Central Knights handed the Staples-Motley Cardinals a 48-12 defeat Friday, Sept. 10.

Hunter Martin was the leading receiver for the Cardinals as he had three catches for 67 yards. Isaiah Schultz went for 224 yards through the air for Staples-Motley. The Cardinals defense did force six turnovers against the Knights, but the Knights were able to force five turnovers themselves. The Cardinals next play at Osakis Friday, Sept. 17.
