High School Football: Crosby-Ironton done in by Mora ground game

MORA--The Mora Mustangs, ranked sixth in Class 3A, used a strong running game to defeat Crosby-Ironton 37-16 in a Northeast Blue Subdistrict game Friday, Sep 21.

MORA-The Mora Mustangs, ranked sixth in Class 3A, used a strong running game to defeat Crosby-Ironton 37-16 in a Northeast Blue Subdistrict game Friday, Sep 21.

The Mustangs' Jonathan Smith and Idris Anderson each rushed over 100 yards and counted for three of the Mustangs scores.

The Rangers put 16 points on the board in the fourth quarter, the first coming on a 8-yard scamper from Ben Edmundson.

The second score came as a result from a 35-yard pass from Dakota Mitchell to Nate Williams. Williams fumbled at the Mustangs 1-yard line, where his teammate Matt Christopher recovered the fumble for a touchdown.

The Mustangs out-rushed the Rangers by a margin of 368-61, but Mitchell threw for 109 yards.
