PIERZ-Reese Kapsner topped 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight year as he ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns on four carries to lead Class 3A's top-ranked and defending state champion Pierz Pioneers to a 66-0 win over the Rockford Rockets Wednesday, Oct. 17.
The win gives the Pioneers their third undefeated season in the lasts four years.
Kapsner raced 65 yards on the third play of the game for his first score and galloped 58 yards for another with 4:49 left in the opening period. He also returned an interception 30 yards for a second quarter score.
Carson Huls rushed five times for only 16 yards, but found the end zone three times in the second quarter on runs of 4, 3 and 1 yards.
Luke Girtz blocked a Rockford punt that was recovered by Alex Barclay in the end zone for the Pioneer's second TD of the game. Mathias Algarin caught a 15-yard strike from Derek Schommer while Alex Poster and Mason Rach ran for touchdowns to round out the scoring for Pierz.

The Pioneers dominated both sides of the ball as they amassed a 462-30 advantage in total offensive yardage.
