High School Football: Orlando, Pirates bowl over Ortonville

VERNDALE -- Craig Orlando rushed 14 times for 227 yards and three touchdowns to lead the No. 3 seeded Verndale Pirates past No. 6 seeded Ortonville Trojans 44-6 in the Section 4-Nine Man Quarterfinals Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Two of Orlando’s touchdowns came on runs of 55 and 79 yards.

Gideon Ervasti ran for two more Verndale scores and Dilan Orlando scored from a yard out as the Pirates rolled to a 403-290 advantage in total offensive yards.

Verndale beat Ortonville 52-6 Oct. 10 as part of a four-game winning streak.
