High School Football: Patriots shut out by DGF in Section Final

GLYNDON — Quarterback Bode Magnuson compiled 244 offensive yards for the No. 2 Pequot Lakes Patriots who were defeated by the No. 1 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels 27-0 in the Section 8-3A championship Friday, Nov. 20.

Magnuson rushed 14 times for 70 yards and completed 24-of-40 passes for 174 yards, but was intercepted twice.

Pequot had 65 offensive plays compared to DGF’s 47, but finished on the short side of a 298-274 total yards. Turnovers plagued the Patriots as they lost two fumbles in addition to the two interceptions.

This is the sixth time these two teams have squared off in the section playoffs in the last 19 years. Pequot is 1-4 against the Rebels, including 0-4 in section finals.

Justin Wang rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries for the Rebels who defeated Pequot Lakes 26-20 in the season opener.
