High School Football: Pequot rallies past Pillager

PEQUOT LAKES -- Nic Kotaska scored on runs of eight and seven yards in the fourth quarter for the Pequot Lakes Patriots who rallied to defeat the Pillager Huskies 28-20 Thursday, Aug. 29.

Zach Jorgens scampered in from 15 yards to give Pequot a 7-0 lead before Pillager scored twice before halftime on a 10-yard pass to Jack Bentson from Erik Peterson and a 6-yard run by Luke Woidyla.

The Patriots tied the score 14-14 in the third with a 29-yard pass from Cale Wolf to Bode Magnuson and Kotaska’s first TD put them up for good at 21-14.

A 21-yard pass from Peterson to Griffin Decker pulled the Huskies to 21-20 before Kotaska wrapped up the scoring with a five-yard run.

Kotaska rushed 20 times for 84 yards. He caught three passes for 33 yards and returned three kickoffs for 83 yards.
