MONTEVIDEO — Michael Leidenfrost accounted for all five Pierz touchdowns as the Pioneers scored 20 fourth-quarter points to break a 13-13 tie and stay unbeaten with a 33-13 win over Montevideo Thursday, Nov. 12.
Leidenfrost got his first touchdown on an 82-yard kickoff return and his second came on a 2-yard burst in the second quarter. The two teams were tied 13-13 at the half.
The Pioneers broke the game open in the fourth quarter with Leidenfrost scoring on a 25-yard run, catching a 4-yard pass from Noah Cekalla and a 15-yard scamper.
Leidenfrost finished with 27 carries for 139 yards and two catches for 18 yards. Zach Jones caught three passes for 98 yards. Cekalla completed 6 of 11 passes for 112 yards.
