High School Football: Pioneers pound out victory over Lakers

The No. 2 seeded Pierz Pioneers hosted No. 7 Minnewaska in the Section 6-3A Quarterfinals.

PIERZ — Reese Young scored three touchdowns and ran for 207 yards for the No. 2 Pierz Pioneers as they defeated the No. 7 Minnewaska Lakers 48-18 in the Section 6-3A Quarterfinals Tuesday, Oct. 26.

Trevor Radunz added two rushing touchdowns and 72 yards on the ground while Jacob LeBlanc rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown for the Pioneers.

Derek Stangl added the final touchdown for Pierz with a 5-yard burst into the end zone.

Pierz will next host No. 3 Morris Area in the Section 6-3A semifinals 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.
