High School Football: Pirates lose in semis

BRANDON -- Verndale’s Jake Ismil put up the No. 3 seeded Pirates only touchdown on a 5-yard run in the first quarter as they fell 34-8 to the No. 2 seeded Brandon-Evansville Chargers Saturday, Oct. 26, in the Section 4-Nine Man semifinals.

Craig Orlando led the rushing for the Pirates with 13 carries for 148 yards. Quarterback Dilan Orlando was 6-14 in completions, totaling 54 yards.

Verndale ends their season 8-2 overall.
