High School Football: Quick start propels Pequot to victory
PARK RAPIDS — Ryan Monahan’s 83-yard kickoff return on the opening kickoff got Pequot Lakes off to a quick start and they went on to defeat Park Rapids 28-6 in a Midwest Red Subdistrict game Thursday, Oct. 15.
Pequot Lakes finished off the first quarter with a 5-yard burst from Erik Larsen to lead 14-6.
A 4-yard run from Carter Sjoblad gave the Patriots a 22-6 halftime lead. Bode Magnuson threw to Riggs Magnuson for the final Pequot Lakes score in the third quarter.
Sjoblad rushed for 59 yards on 10 rushes and Magnuson was 8-15 passing for 102 yards with a touchdown pass. Alex Morgan’s two catches for 49 yards led the receiving corps.
