High School Football: Verndale

VERNDALE — Hunter Schulke rushed in three touchdowns and Brandon Greenwaldt hauled in two more as the No. 2 seeded Verndale Pirates blanked No. 7 Rothsay 42-0 in the Section 4, 9-Man quarterfinals Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Zach Brownlow intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble to preserve the shutout for Verndale which improves to 6-1 and will host No. 3 Wheaton/Herman-Norcross in the section semifinal 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.

Schulke scored from 9, 1 and 17 yards out and totaled 168 yards on the ground.

Dilan Orlando, who went 5-of-11 passing for 92 yards, hit Greenwaldt twice.

Gideon Ervasti carried the ball 10 times for 95 yards
