High School Football: Wolverines nail down 1st win of season

WADENA--The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines, led by Payton Rondestvedt, scored by land and by air in a 34-6 win over United North Central on Friday, Sept. 14.

Hunter Hawkins caught a 55-yard scoring pass from Rondestvedt in the first quarter, and Max Phillips scored on a 31-yard pass from Rondestvedt in the second quarter.

Colby Schertler also dashed for scores of 6 and 11 yards, and the Wolverines led 28-0 at the half.

Rondestvedt got the last score of the game for Wadena-Deer Creek on a 5-yard run. He finished with 150 yards passing as the Wolverines improved to 1-2 overall.
