The deadline to register for the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department’s adult Pond Hockey program is Friday, Dec. 13, and the youth registration deadline is Friday, Dec. 20.
Cost per team for the adult program is $60. This is a 4-on-4 league. Games are played on Tuesday evenings with games beginning Jan. 7 at Bane Park. Teams provide theirown equipment and pucks.
The cost for the youth program is $42 per participant.
Helmets, shin guards, elbow pads and jerseys are provided to the first 48 players to register. Players must provide their own sticks, skates and mouth guards.
The Penguins are ages 7-10 and the Polar Bears are ages 11-15. Ages are determined as of Jan. 1, 2020. Both leagues are for boys and girls. Games are played at Mill Avenue Park and Nisswa Saturday mornings.

On-line registration for the youth program is available by going to www.ci.brainerd.mn.us/parks. A small service charge is applied to the registration cost when using a credit or debit card. Persons may also register at the Lum Park office during regular business hours. A mail-in registration form can be found at the Parks and Recreation website. Mail-in registrations must be received by Dec. 20. There is a $10 late fee.
Equipment handout for the youth program will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Mill Avenue Park warming house. The first practices will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 2 for the Penguins and Polar Bears.
Coaches will determine the practice schedules after the first night of practices for each league.
