Friday, Dec. 14, is the deadline to register for the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department's Pond Hockey program.
Cost is $42 per participant.
Helmets, shin guards, elbow pads and jerseys are provided to the first 48 players to register. Players must provide their own sticks, skates and mouth guards.
Penguins are ages 7-10 and Polar Bears are ages 11-15. Ages are determined as of Jan. 1, 2019. Both leagues are for boys and girls. Games are played at Mill Avenue Park and Nisswa on Saturday mornings.
Online registration is available by going to www.ci.brainerd.mn.us/parks . A small service charge is applied to the registration cost when using a credit or debit card. Individuals may also register at the Lum Park office during regular business hours. A mail-in registration form can be found at the Parks and Recreation website. Mail-in registrations must be received by Dec. 14.

Equipment handout will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Mill Avenue Park warming house.
The first practices will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 3 for the Penguins and Polar Bears. Coaches will determine practice schedules after the first night of practices for each league.
