Hockey: NLYHA schedules three try hockey sessions

BREEZY POINT - The Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association invites boys and girls to the Breezy Point Sports Center for three summer Come Try Hockey sessions.

BREEZY POINT - The Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association invites boys and girls to the Breezy Point Sports Center for three summer Come Try Hockey sessions.

Sessions are scheduled June 20 from 2 to 4 p.m., July 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. and Aug. 15 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Area youths are encouraged to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basic skills in a fun, safe environment.

NLYHA will provide all necessary equipment for the sessions which are free of charge with no commitments.

NLYHA serves youths in the school districts and communities of Aitkin, Crosby-Ironton, Crosslake, Pequot Lakes and Pine River-Backus.

"We look forward to welcoming families to try our great sport of ice hockey," NLYHA president Jill Haugene said in a news release. "Our goal is for families to enjoy watching their kids learn new skills with big smiles on their faces. It is our goal to make hockey as affordable as possible for all families with the programs we have in place."
