NEW ULM - Garrett Freeman's first goal of the season at 16:35 of the third period broke a 1-1 deadlock and lifted the Breezy Point North Stars past the New Ulm Steel 2-1 in North American3 action on Monday.
Freeman's goal was assisted by Cooper Hoheisel and Dustin Sadler. Breezy Point's Nick Eddens scored late in the first session, but New Ulm quickly tied it before the period ended. Winning goaltender Jacob MacLennan stopped 37 shots while Steel netminder Henry Baribeau had 22 saves.
The North Stars are scheduled to host Alexandria at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Breezy Point Arena.
