The Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department will hand out pond hockey equipment and a letter with important dates for parents from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Mill Avenue Park warming house.
Players must be registered to receive equipment. If you register on-line after noon Friday, please bring your online receipt. If you are unable to make the meeting, the equipment will be brought back to the Parks and Recreation office in Lum Park the following Monday and you can pick it up after noon.
Registration for Brainerd Pond Hockey remains open. Cost is $40, but a $10 late fee will be charged after Friday's deadline. Individuals may register at the Brainerd Parks and Recreation office in Lum Park during regular office hours or go online to register.
Practices begin Jan. 2 for Penguins (ages 7-10) and Jan. 4 for Polar Bears (ages 11-15).
Anyone interested in volunteering to coach should contact Tony Sailer at Brainerd Parks and Recreation.
