Area Boys Hockey: Lightning strike down W-DC

WADENA—Garrett Westlund posted two goals for the Northern Lakes Lightning as they defeated the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines 4-3 Tuesday.

Scoring along with Westlund for the Lightning were Zech Trenkenschu and Shane Donovan. Donovan also put up two assists.

Scoring for the Wolverines in the Mid-State Conference game were Andrew Sundby with two goals and Jake Dykhoff with one.

Little Falls 6, Becker/Big Lake 3

PRINCETON-- Andrew Marod scored two first period goals as the Little Falls Flyers built a 3-0 first period lead on their way to a 6-3 non-conference victory over Becker/Big Lake Tuesday.

Mario Filippi notched the other first period goal for Little Falls. Ryan Buckallew scored twice and Aaron Johnson also got into the scoring column.

Justin Pekula totaled 11 saves and the Flyers put 35 shots on the Eagles net.
