Junior Hockey: North Stars earn split with Rochester

The Breezy Point North Stars snapped a 1-1 deadlock with three third-period goals to down the Rochester Grizzlies 4-1 in North American3 Hockey League action Saturday, Nov. 3, at Breezy Point Arena.

The Breezy Point North Stars snapped a 1-1 deadlock with three third-period goals to down the Rochester Grizzlies 4-1 in North American3 Hockey League action Saturday, Nov. 3, at Breezy Point Arena.

Lukas Brockman scored to give the Stars a 1-0 lead in the second period. Rochester tied it but Carson Simon, Brockman and Dylan Borseth all tallied in the final session for the win. Dan Fielding stopped 45 shots to earn the goaltending victory while losing netminder Maxim Closer had 29 saves.

Friday, Nov. 2, Rochester scored five times in the middle period to down Breezy Point 8-3. Jacob Berkowitz, Simon and Evan O'Connor all tallied in the third period for the Stars. Winning goalie Nick Bucklin turned aside 21 shots while Lane Fox had 26 saves for the Stars.

Rochester is tied for the West Division lead with 22 points (11-4 overall) while Breezy Point dropped to 3-12-1.

The Stars are scheduled to play at Wisconsin Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10.
