Junior Hockey: Stars split with Junior Bulldogs

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Brooke Evans scored for Breezy Point as the North Stars were nipped 2-1 by the Chicago Junior Bulldogs in a North American3 Hockey League game Sunday.

Evans' power-play goal was assisted by Ryan Herbert and Jack Anderholm. Stars' goalie Jaxson Gosnell stopped 37 of 39 shots.

On Saturday, Ryan Mezera scored twice as the Stars beat the Junior Bulldogs 4-2.

Nolan Magsamen and Benny Smieja scored the other Breezy Point goals. Assists went Tyler Larwood, Linder Kenyon, Evans and Herbert. Matt Milendorf stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Stars.

Overall: BP 13-30-3. Next: Breezy Point vs. Twin City Steel at White Bear Lake 7 p.m. Friday.
