Lakewood League Baseball: Peterson's single in bottom of ninth beats Cyclones

Kevin Peterson's one-out, walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Brainerd Bees to a 2-1 Lakewood League victory over the Sauk Rapids Cyclones Saturday at Adamson Field.

Winning pitcher Blake Peterson doubled before Kevin Peterson's hit scored him with the game-winning run.

Blake Peterson pitched all nine innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run, struck out 11 and walked eight.

Kevin Peterson finished 2-for-4, Blake Peterson was 1-4 with a double, Hanson Devine was 1-3 with a double and Tim Martin 1-3 with an RBI single that scored Devine after Devine doubled in the fourth.

Losing pitcher Jeff Hille went 8.1 innings, permitting five hits and two earned runs with six strikeouts. Sauk Rapids scored its only in the first on an RBI single by Paul Schlangen.
