PINE CITY — Teagan Piecek is a double Great River Conference champion as she won the long and triple jumps to help the Aitkin Gobblers girls to a second-place finish Tuesday, May 25.
The Aitkin boys placed third. Anton Roettele placed second in the 110-meter hurdles and the high jump. The team of Mason Boyd, Jack Grell, Jacob Williams and Jaeland Willams placed second in the 4x200 relay.
Boyd and Roettele joined Jackson Cline and Craig Visnovec to place second in the 4x100 relay.
Piecek jumped 15-foot-6.5 to win the long jump and went 33-9 to win the triple jump. Piecek teamed with Raelene Nyberg, Charlotte Olesen and Kelsi Welle to place second in the 4x100 relay. Piecek was third in the 200 dash.
Aitkin’s 4x400 relay of Madison Hamilton, Emma Ostrowski, McKenzie Kollar and Nyberg placed second.

Cards win
PARK RAPIDS — Remington Converse and Corey Hansen finished first and second in the 100- and 200-meter dashes to lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals boys team to first place Tuesday, May 25, at the Park Rapids Invite.
Emmett Anderson won the 1600 run followed by Isaiah Tabatt in second. Anderson won the 3200 followed by Logan Robben in second and Hunter Miller captured the high jump
Crosby-Ironton’s Nick Nierenhausen won the pole vault with a 13-foot-1 effort followed by Michael Fitzpatrick in second. Jordan Mount won the long and triple jumps and was third in the 200 dash for the third-place Rangers.
Pine River-Backus placed fifth. Kyosuke Marcum was second in the triple jump. Finnegan O’Dell finished third in the pole vault and Jake Mills was third in the discus.
The S-M girls team placed third. Afton Robinson won the 400-meter dash while Kyanna Burton and Audrey Brownell went first and second in the 1600 run. Burton and Naila Mikhaell were first and second in the 3200 and S-M’s 4x800 relay won.
Tabetha Allen won the shot put with a 32-1 heave.

Crosby-Ironton’s Sydney Roberts won the 100 hurdles and Jacey Rydberg was second in the shot put. Maria Ringhand placed third in the 100 dash. Haley Jones was third in the high jump and pole vault for the fourth-place Rangers.
Pine River-Backus was fifth led by Alaura Dahl win in the long jump. She was fourth in the triple jump. Claire Dahl threw the discus a first-place distance of 94-9.75.
