WALKER -- The third annual Leech Lake Frostfest will be March 14 on the shores of Leech Lake in Walker City Park in Walker.

There will be outdoor activities for the whole family, including lumberjack games, ice golf, home-brew competition, cornhole, dog sled rides, fat-tire bike demos, live music, craft beer, local foods and a pet adoption event.

Leech Lake Frostfest is partnering with Deep Portage Learning Center, in Hackensack.

“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to direct a portion of our proceeds to connect our local youth with the outdoor education programs provided by Deep Portage,” event organizers said in a news release.

Last year, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley School students had the opportunity for an overnight trip to the learning center.

“I would recommend Deep Portage for anyone who likes adventure. All the games we played were really fun,” said Keira Frizzell, a fourth grader at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley School.
