NISSWA-McCale Peterson and Alex Haapajoki each contributed two hits as the Brainerd American Legion team defeated Crosslake-Nisswa 6-1 Tuesday, July 3.
Peterson was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Haapajoki finished 2-5 and also had two RBIs. Colin Kleffman doubled for Brainerd which improved to 7-5.
Eric Martin, the third of six Brainerd pitchers, got the win. In two innings, he walked two and struck out one and allowed no hits or runs. Hunter Wicklund, Peterson, Sam Miller, Brady Anderson and Kleffman also pitched for Brainerd.
