DULUTH-Colin Kleffman hit two doubles for the Brainerd American Legion team as it defeated Lakeview of Duluth 7-5 in Game Two of a regular-season ending doubleheader Saturday, July 21.
Alex Haapajoki was 2-3 and Eli Sundquist 2-4 with two runs scored for Brainerd. Bryce McConville pitched 4.1 innings allowing two hits and two runs (1 earned) with four walks and a strikeout. Kaleb Sundquist pitched the final 2.2 innings giving up one hit and no earned runs with five walks and got the win.
Lakeview won Game One 2-0 with Hunter Wicklund, McCale Peterson, Haapajoki and McConville providing the only Brainerd hits. Kleffman took the loss despite giving up only three hits and two runs (1 earned) with three walks and two strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Hunter Wicklund finished on the mound.
At Nisswa Friday, July 20, Hunter Wicklund had two hits and McCale Peterson drove in two runs during a 9-3 loss to Perham in a 9-inning game. Losing pitcher Eric Martin went seven innings allowing seven hits and five runs (2 earned) with three walks and two strikeouts. Eli Sundquist finished allowing four hits and four runs (2 earned) with one walk and a strikeout.
Brainerd finishes the regular season 17-11.

PILLAGER-Bo Kruchten cranked a 3-run homer as the Pillager American Legion team was defeated by Perham 9-7 Friday, July 20.
Pillager's Sam Jensen finished 1-for-1 with three walks. Tyler Wilcox, Brady Wermter, Cole Evenson and Dalton Barrett had the other hits for Pillager.
