Legion Baseball: Kleffman helps Nisswa win opener

NISSWA--Colin Kleffman went 4-for-4 and cracked one of his team's eight doubles as the Nisswa American Legion baseball team opened its season Monday with a 10-5 victory over Foley.

Braydon Borg was 2-4 with a double, Hunter Wicklund 2-2 with a double and Mac Brink 2-3 with a double.

Winning pitcher Connor Knettel went four innings, allowing one hit and one walk with three strikeouts.

In the final two innings, Bryce McConville permitted three hits and two earned runs with a walk and a strikeout.

LITTLE FALLS-Dylan Lukasavitz went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, including a walk-off infield single, as the Little Falls American Legion team shaded the St. Cloud Chutes 7-6 in eight innings Monday.

The Flyers scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth after surrendering three runs in the top half.

Jake Kapphahn walked three times and scored two runs for Little Falls.

On the mound, AJ Jenks went seven innings and gave up six runs, three earned with eight strikeouts. Hunter Swanson finished the eighth inning for the win.
