MONTICELLO-Bryce Flanagan threw just 76 pitches in a complete game but the Nisswa Legion opened its season Monday with a 3-2 loss to Monticello.
Flanagan allowed six hits and three earned runs, walked three and struck out two. Nisswa batters struck out 11 times.
McCale Peterson collected two hits for Nisswa and drove in a run. Chris Pederson tripled, had an RBI and scored a run. Jake Meyer, Jaden Miller and Flanagan had the other Nisswa hits.
Tuesday's game against the St. Cloud Chutes has been rescheduled as a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Nisswa.
