EAGAN -- Hutchinson used a 13-run inning to eliminate Nisswa from the Division I Legion State Tournament Sunday 14-8.

Seven errors hamstrung Nisswa and helped chase Logan Madsen out of the game after just two innings pitched.

"Errors killed us in the two games that we lost," said Legion head coach Drew Boland.

TJ Graumann and Matt Casperson each collected two hits, including doubles for Nisswa, which finished the season 19-2-1.

Saturday's games

BLOOMINGTON - Eight of Nisswa's 14 hits went for extra bases as it eliminated Chaska 15-8 in a loser's bracket game of the Division I Legion state tournament Saturday.

Nate DeChaine went 3-4 with two RBIs, two doubles and a run. Mizuki Shumsky was 3-4 with three RBIs, two walks, two doubles and two runs scored for Nisswa.

TJ Graumann finished 2-4 with a run and a triple. Conor Gessell collected a double, two RBIs and two runs and Taylor Streiff hit a triple, drove in two runs and scored once.

Logan Madsen also had two hits with two walks and scored three runs.

Hayden Bukowski pitched 6.2 innings. He allowed seven runs on five hits and five walks. He struck out three. Beau Janousek pitched the final 2.1 innings.

Graumann, Streiff and Drew Sanness all hit two doubles, with Streiff also blasting a home run as Nisswa hit the Tri-City Red out of the state tournament earlier Saturday 10-5.

Streiff finished 3-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Sannes was 3-5 with three RBIs and Graumann drove in two and scored twice on three hits as Nisswa collected 15 hits.

Tory Miller pitched the complete game victory as he struck out seven, walked two and allowed five earned runs on 15 hits.

Shumsky was 2-4 with two RBIs and a run for Nisswa.

Friday's games

BURNSVILLE - Nisswa earned a split at the opening day of the Division I Legion State Tournament in Burnsville Friday.

Streiff drove in three runs and smashed a triple to lead Nisswa to a 6-3 win over Delano in the first game. Graumann earned the win on the mound, while the Nisswa offense knocked out 10 hits.

Nisswa faced Lakeville North in Game Two and kept it close at 2-2 until Lakeville North posted six runs for the 8-2 win.

Billy Riach pitched a complete game for Lakeville North, but Nisswa was able to get nine hits off of him.
