MINNETONKA-A tired Nisswa Legion team escaped the Gopher Classic tournament with a 2-3 record and missed advancing to the championship round.
Bryce Flanagan doubled and McCale Peterson, Alex Haapajoki and David Benson all singled in a 4-0 tournament-opening loss to Hopkins Friday.
Mac Brink pitched the loss. He allowed five hits and three earned runs over five innings. He struck out one.
On Saturday, Nisswa opened with an 8-7 loss to eventual pool winner Omaha 8-7. Flanagan went 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. Peterson finished 2-3 with a double and RBI. Max Boran was 2-4 with a double and an RBI and Braydon Borg 2-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
Sam Miller pitched the complete game. He allowed nine hits, one walk and two earned runs. He struck out four.

Nisswa posted a 13-6 victory over West St. Paul in its next game. Boran was 2-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Brink was 3-4 with an RBI. Chris Karels was 3-4 with three runs scored and Benson was 3-5 with four RBI.
Flanagan pitched the victory. He allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk. He struck out four.
On Sunday, Nisswa clipped Owatonna 6-3. Colin Kleffman was 2-4 with an RBI. Tristan Richardt was 2-3 with an RBI and Haapajoki was 3-4 with an RBI.
Borg pitched 5 ⅓ innings. He allowed eight hits and three runs. He walked one and struck out four. Karels pitched the final outs for the save.
In Nisswa's final game of the tournament, it fell to Sioux Falls West 4-0 Sunday. Kleffman and Peterson each hit a double and Nisswa scattered five singles.
Peterson went four innings. He allowed three runs. Karels pitched the final three innings.
