SARTELL-Jake Kapphahn hit a 2-run homer for third-seeded Little Falls in a 14-6 loss to No. 6 Sartell in the opening round of the Substate 12 American Legion Tournament Sunday, July 22.
Andy Marod was 2-for-4 for Little Falls with an RBI and run scored.
Kapphahn started on the mound and gave up eight runs (4 earned) and eight hits in 3.2 innings with two walks and two strikeouts. Nik Durfee pitched 1.1 innings and allowed five runs on four hits with one strikeout. Travis Wenzel pitched two innings and gave up a run and three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Little Falls plays the No. 7 St. Cloud 76ers in a losers bracket game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Sartell.
