ELY-Justin Dykhoff struck out five and allowed just one unearned run to pitch Wadena-Deer Creek to a 4-1 victory over Pierz Friday in the winner's bracket of the Northeast Substate Division II tournament.
Dykhoff allowed four hits and four walks and Noah Roers pitched the final out for a save.
Austin Dickmann went the distance for Pierz. He struck out two, walked one and allowed four runs on nine hits.
Jake Dykhoff, Justin Dykhoff, Lleyton Pettit and Maxwell Phillips all drove in runs for W-DC.
Pierz's Preston Rocheleau was the only player with multiple hits as he finished 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Lane Girtz also doubled for Pierz.
