The 2021 Brainerd Jaycees Run for the Lakes will once again be virtual, but there will be events surrounding the annual marathon.

The YMCA, which is the primary beneficiary this year, will hold an in-person 1K for its daycare program 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21. The event will also be livestreamed on both the YMCA Facebook page and the Run for the Lakes Facebook page.

From 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 23 at Roundhouse Brewery in Nisswa there will be an in-person pick up with drive-through options for those who are local to pick up their packets. There will also be same-day registration and packet pickup at this time and location.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, April 24, there will be a livestreaming of the “Starting line” with the national anthem and some warm-ups. This will be held at the Nisswa Community Park’s parking lot.

There is still time to register. Registration is open at www.runforthelakes.com until April 25. For those that don't want to walk or run, but still want to support the Brainerd YMCA, there is a donation button on the registration page.
