Top-seeded Team Body Armor and second-seeded Moe's Contracting and Landscaping were among four teams winning playoff games in the Brainerd Family YMCA Men's League the week of Feb. 27.
Team Body Armor defeated No. 9 Justin, Clasen and Co. 49-48 with Aaron Otteson providing 42 points and three rebounds and Jeff Brever 13 points and five rebounds. Leading JCC were Luke Schramm with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Garrett Anderson 12 points and four rebounds.
Moe's defeated No. 7 S&W Guide Service 69-55. Top performers for Moe's were Mark Hoge with 28 points and two rebounds and Gideon Avelsgaard 17 points and two rebounds. For S&W, John Sandberg had 12 points and four rebounds and Nate Blasing 12 points and two rebounds.
The sixth-seeded Mambas upended No. 3 American Family Insurance 54-50 as Darsean Woodson supplied 14 points and two rebounds and Horace Wimberly nine points and two rebounds. American Family was paced by Byron Ninham with 33 points and four rebounds and Travis Dixon eight points and two rebounds.
Fourth-seeded Select Therapy defeated No. 5 WAC Transportation 62-51. Select's Jake Freeman had 19 points and eight rebounds and Jesse Smithson 15 points and six boards. Topping WAC were George Washington with 25 points and five rebounds and Jon Hoffmann 13 points and three rebounds.
