GRAND RAPIDS-The Central Lakes College Raiders received a quality start from Josh Arnold, who finished with 17 points in 31 minutes as the Raiders defeated Itasca 87-62 in a Northern Division game Wednesday, Jan 23.
Arnold was a spot start for last week's player of the week Chris Buckley. Buckley was ill and unable to make the start, but Arnold led the offense and also accumulated two steals, committing just one turnover.
Tyree'on Johnson led all scorers with 22 points, as the the Raiders shot 57 percent. Kelvin Harris and Gavin Smith also picked up the scoring slack, finishing with 13 and eight points.
CLC entered Wednesday's action tied for first place in the Northern Division with Rainy River at 5-1. The Vikings were tied with Mesabi for third place. With tonight's win, the Raiders have defeated the three teams behind them in the standings.
