Men's College Basketball: No. 4 Augustana slays No. 6 Dragons

Senior guard Jordan Riewer of Staples scored 15 points while leading the team in assists with five.

The Dragons fell to 25-2 overall and 16-2 in the NSIC. Augustana improved to 23-1 and 17-1 in the NSIC.

MSUM will return to action at 8 p.m. next Friday when it hosts Minnesota-Duluth. At 6 p.m. Saturday, the Dragons host St. Cloud State.

On Friday, MSUM set a school record for most wins in a season with a 86-65 win over Wayne State in NSIC play. The Dragons' 25 wins this season bettered the previous mark of 24 set in 1970-71 and matched in 1981-82.

Friday's win also marked the best start in school history. The 1970-71 team started 24-1 before dropping its final game of the season.

Riewer led the team in scoring Friday with 18 points, doled out three assists and was 9-of-10 from the free throw line.
