Central Lakes College trailed 9-2 early, but led by Tyree'on Johnson's 24 points, the Raiders outscored Mesabi 47-22 the rest of the first half and went on to win the Northern Division game 98-70 Saturday, Jan 11, in Brainerd.
The Raiders won for the fifth straight game and improved to 3-0 in division play.
Josh Arnold tallied 18 points and seven assists and Beau Bailey added 15 points. Tyler Baribeau led the way in rebounds with eight.
With the Norse leading 15-14 midway through the first half, Johnson tallied three baskets off of turnovers during the next five minutes and Arnold also scored off a turnover. The Raiders’ lead stood at 31-20 with five minutes left in the first half.
The Raiders held the Norse to 37% shooting and Central Lakes shot 58%.
