Men's College Basketball: Raiders honor sophomores

CLC extends winning streak to 15 games.

Tyree’on Johnson scored a team-high 23 points and Lionel Warner tallied 18 as the Central Lakes College men’s basketball team ran their winning streak to 15 games with an 88-72 win over Itasca in a Northern Division game Wednesday, Feb 12.

The Raiders swept the season series from the Vikings as they defeated them 105-61 Jan. 22.

Central Lakes shot just over 47% from the field. Itasca was held to 37% shooting, but the Vikings’ Brian Pinkney Jr. led all scorers with 29 points.

Raiders sophomores Johnson, Josh Arnold, Gavin Smith, Brandon Burggraff and Shamar Hill were honored before the game. All five players are planning to walk together this spring graduation and two already have their associate’s degree. With two games left in the regular season the sophomore class has compiled an overall record of 46-11 and 28-1 in conference play over two seasons.
