Men's College Basketball: Rochester ends CLC's season in region quarterfinals

ANOKA--Keonte' Jenkins came off the bench to score 28 points but the Central Lakes College Raiders' season ended following an 85-82 loss to the Rochester Yellowjackets in the quarterfinals of Region 13 tournament Friday.

Two free throws by Ray Adams, with five seconds left, were the game's final points. CLC's Al-Jureau Ray missed a 3-pointer before time expired.

CLC, the Northern Division's No. 3 seed, led at halftime 44-41 but was outscored 44-38 in the second half.

The Raiders received 17 points from Noah Champion and 14 from Lowell Griggs who grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Jenkins shot 10 of 18 from the field, Champion 7 of 10 and Griggs 7 of 13 for CLC which finished 32 of 62 from the floor (52 percent).

Rochester, the No. 2 seed in the Southern Division, was led by Jumah'Ri Turner's 24 points and Tyree Caruthers' 11 rebounds. The Yellowjackets won despite shooting 43 percent from the field (28 of 65) but held the edge on CLC at the foul line where they swished 20 of 24 (83 percent) compared to the Raiders' 12 of 18 (67 percent).

Rochester, which improved to 23-5, defeated CLC 90-66 during the regular season on its home court.
