BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Mitch McLain's short-handed goal with 5.3 seconds left in overtime lifted No. 15 Bowling Green to a 4-3 win over Northern Michigan Saturday night.
McLain's goal gave the Falcons their fifth straight win (all by one goal) and BGSU improved to 9-3-3 overall.
Chris Pohlkamp, another Brainerd High School graduate, collected his second assist of the season in the second period.
On Friday, the Falcons kept their winning streak alive with a 2-1 victory over Northern Michigan. Chris Pohlkamp, a freshman defenseman, led BGSU with five shots on goal. Matt Pohlkamp tied for team honors with two blocked shots.
BGSU is 6-2-2 in WCHA play with 14 points. Bowling Green will complete its six-game home stand next weekend by hosting WCHA leader Minnesota State Mankato at 7:07 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
