TOLEDO, Ohio - Brainerd High School graduate Matt Pohlkamp scored a short-handed goal for Bowling Green in the Falcons' first-ever outdoor hockey game - a 2-2 draw with Robert Morris University on Saturday at Fifth Third Field.
Pierre-Luc Mercier dished the puck to a wide-open Pohlkamp, who fired a shot past Robert Morris goalie Terry Shafer.
"I absolutely loved the experience playing in the outdoor game today, Pohlkamp said in a news release. "It will be one of those games you look back on when I am older."
On Sunday, the Falcons defeated Robert Morris 4-1 at Moon Township, Pa.
The 13th-ranked Falcons (12-3-3 overall) return to the BGSU Ice Arena to play the Alaska Nanooks at 7:07 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action.
