DECORAH, Iowa-Former Brainerd Warrior Peder Smith earned All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors in swimming at Luther College.
Smith, a 2016 graduate of Brainerd High School, earned all-conference honors as runner-up in the 200 backstroke (1:58.27). He was also a member of the runner-up 800 freestyle relay (7:09.84).
As a team, Luther finished second with 465 points. Nebraska Wesleyan University won the team title with 556.5.
For an athlete to earn all-conference honors, they must place in the top two of an individual event or be a member of a first- or second-place relay during the conference championships.
