BEMIDJI - Kyle Thompson of Aitkin signed Aug. 1 to play for the Bemidji State University 2014-15 men's golf team.
A six-time letterwinner for the Aitkin High School team, Thompson earned individual runner-up honors at the Great River Conference Tournament three times. As a sophomore, he placed fifth in the Section 7-2A tournament, narrowly missing a berth to the 2012 state tournament.
Thompson was also a four-year letterwinner for the Gobblers' boys basketball team.
